CHARACTERIZATION OF SYNTHESIZED POLY(OANISIDINE)- HCL ELECTRODE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF GAS SENSOR

ABSTRACT

 

In the present research work,poly(o-anisidine)films with 0.2M monomer concentration, 1M electrolyte concentration, 1.0 pH of the electrolyte solution and 2mA/cm2 applied current density at room temperature with HCl electrolyte were synthesized on silver electrodeusing electrochemical polymerization technique.The optimal film growth was achieved for synthesis of the poly(oanisidine) films in the presence of HCl electrolyte.These synthesized POA-HCl films were characterized by galvanostatic technique, Four Probe Technique, UV-visible spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). This study reveals that, the POA films synthesized with HClelectrolyte provides conductivity 0.66S/cm and shows branches with small leafs like structure surface morphology. The synthesized POAHClfilms exhibit good electrochemical properties, conductivity with a uniform surface morphology which could be used for development of gas sensor.
